The stores we went to were: Dollar Tree, 99 cent Store (that’s where we got the fresh vegetables), and Family Dollar. This was a fun challenge but it also shows that it always come down to heart and technique not fancy ingredients. 🙂
I just want to point out that some of these things might be cheaper per oz/unit at a grocery store.
Not sure if it’s universal, but here in California country style ribs are just cut from Boston’s butt roast of the pig.
Btw salt isn’t bad for you it’s a myth ofc if you were to eat enough salt it would be bad but it isn’t bad to add extra to your food
It was all an actual dollar before Biden. No president has spiked inflation that bad in the past fifty years.

Glad you went to 99cent store the most elite of all dollar stores which just last month closed all their stores for good 😢
I understand the challenge, but you don't have to make people feel so humiliated for shopping at Dollar Tree.
Yet another proof that it's more about the technicque than the ingredients.

If you don't have a gas stove get a single burner you can screw on top of a green propane tank (it's small) and usually found in the camping section. Can actually cook on it, great for boiling water when the power is out, or for roasting jalapeno / pablano peppers.
