Here’s why I spent so much in Iceland
“Woah!!! Aren’t you usually chasing deals? Wtf happened?” 😳
Thought I’d save you the trouble of making that comment. 😂 The answer is usually a resounding YES, but on my Iceland trip – not so much! 🤷🏽♀️ Here’s why 👇
1) It was a gift to myself 🎁
This was the FIRST trip I took solo internationally, and it was right after leaving my 9-5 to pursue my dream of being a full-time content creator! I decided from the get-go that if I was going to do something *so* out of my ordinary, I was going to go all out!
2) I paid my trip over time ⏰
It’s actually unheard of for me to book a trip 8 months in advance, but this one was! 👏🏽 The nice thing about having so much time is paying little amounts of $$$ booking things over a span of months, instead of all at once. It added up, but it was less painful because I paid for the trip over time – “payment plan” style. 🙏🏽
3) Iceland is expensive 🥵
Part of it is actually unavoidable! Iceland is one of the top 10 most expensive countries in the world. 😬 It isn’t a budget traveler’s destination by nature (although with some finessing, it could be). I did, however, find a $400 flight deal & paid with points!
4) I avoided hostels
The cheapest way to stay here is in a hostel (followed by camping)! 🏨 Personally, I wanted my own space not knowing how a solo int’l trip would feel. Since the single rooms were all sold out in hostels, I booked hotels. If I went with someone, that cost would be split in 1/2! 🥴 Which brings me to my next point…
5) I went alone 👧
Solo travel doesn’t have to be expensive❗️But in Iceland, it can be. I couldn’t have imagined visiting without a car rental (which means gasoline $$ too). ⛽️ I paid over $1,000+ for my hotels and airbnbs! 🤯 I checked other solo traveler’s cost breakdowns & some were even higher. 🥴
6) I sat down for meals 🥘
Sky’s the limit when it comes to restaurant prices. 🥵 Brekky could be between $20-30, lunch $20-35, & dinner $35-50. Two sit down meals in one day could easily be $90-100. Some days I just had gas station food!
Transparency is 🔑 here, & honestly I’d do it again.
$2.9k For 1 week……… insane
I was solo in Iceland for a week (7 days) and I spend around 2000€.
Visitors are selected by money
Hotels 1200 dollars. What.
So cute
How do I get free flights ?
Thanks! Very useful and helpful lovely lady.
How did the flight cost nothing?
Is she going there to have 10 babies ?
Love it!!! I enjoy seeing other wonderlust content! We also share adventure and travel content!
Thank you! That’s realistic! Cause lots of social media imply costs are less often or how they get upgrades for free all the time etc etc
The activities were the cheapest part lol.
How was your flight 0$?
😊😊

Went to Iceland last year and taking a 2nd trip this summer. Love that place.

I live in Iceland and that’s little here it may look much it’s about 100k? In Icelandic money! But here it’s so little because everything here is very expensive!
That's not bad. I spent double that but did rent a car so therein lies the reason.
Its possible to do it under $1000 in a week with hostels, europe cheap flights, hostels and buses. I just went 5 days.
❤
So cool🎉
Why was the flight $0?
😍 it's absolutely breathtaking!!
Let come yo viet nam just 1700$ for all
| Italand |
This country was never found to 163BC to 2024. This country has never been found because of several problems and difficulties to get to it. Italand is located near germany but really hidden. The backstory of it is this. Italand got found for the first time in 1492, February 6. The king of the country couldn’t resist the time without anyone.

To anyone who is reading this comment, I recently started a travel channel to share my experiences by using one of my old accounts. I’d be extremely grateful if anyone could check it out because I haven’t been getting very much exposure, although I do still enjoy posting. 😊✈️🌍
Hello my friend, I hate to bug but might you list some of the hotels, I am planning to go very soon 🙂
You overspent big time.
I can't read very fast screen
Beautiful pics. Did you stay in one hotel or did you stay in different hotels per city? If so, what were the names if the hotels?
Wow pretty expensive lol.
So you could probably do it for half the money on a budget.
Thank god im from europe youve been scammed
Did you budget travel? I want to gauge how much I’d spend with 2 people for 10 days.

As far as foreign trips go, this is more on the affordable side.
