Apple’s iPadOS18 software update is by far the most dissapointing update in years, especially seeing all of the other innovations for iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. Here are my thoughts..

  1. I’m sticking with my M2 iPad Pro from 2022, because every single thing mentioned in this video was mentioned in 2022 when the M2 iPad pros came out and we STILL don’t have any of these advantages even though we now have an M4 chip!
My advice, unless you really need a thin device, go for the M1 or M2 iPad Pro. Because there’s literally nothing pro about them!

  2. It is gonna hit them hard in the yearly profits, and nothing will be done unless it is taken to the stockholders, then and only then will they change their model of controlled products for profits, unleashing the designs of their products will happen, but not within the next few years…the designers employed by apple know exactly what everyone wants, but they are strapped down and regulated… (I would even think the new AI if asked to design the iPPro that everybody wants, it would kick out an all in one product that we all ask for, wouldn’t that be a wake up call!)

  3. Even if Apple is planning to bring MacOS to the iPad somehow, it will wait until new, thinner, and more powerful MacBooks are released to make them competitive. Right, iPad with MacOS onboard will eat sales of MacBooks, even some pro models.
I would personally buy a new MacBook if they made it as small as the old good MacBook 12 but with an OLED screen and at least an M4 chip. But iPad with MacOS sounds exciting for me 🙂

  4. There is a shared iPad feature for years. You can then login with your managed apple id. Use Apple Configurator or a MDM solution for that.

  5. I don't need the power of the M4. I did want the new Pencil. I could get an Air with an M2, except I refuse to use 60 Hz when even my phone has been at 120 Hz for a few years. I could use the M2 Pro from last time, but I can't use the new Pencil. So I'll wait and see what they do next time. I can float a bit longer with my old iPad Pro 3rd generation. Lol. I don't need Mac power in my tablet. The OS doesn't bother me on a tablet. But they're putting Mac-caliber components in it and charging Mac prices for the top tier. Even the lowest tier isn't tablet-cheap. So I understand the complaints.

  6. Apple dug their own graves by tying hardware marketting with software marketting.
PC users don't wait for Windows update to upgrade their hardware.
Upgrade hardware when you need the newer hardware…

  7. Grow that hair and you'll look like Jon Snow of Game of Thrones. And yeah, this iPadOS update sucks and what a waste of such a revolutionary device.

  8. My classroom iMacs came out in 2017 and 18, each with a Magic Mouse. The students hated them and I hated them so they were switched out with much cheaper, form fitting, and reliable, wired mice. In fact I routinely use an old Dell two button mouse on my instructor iMac because it feels good in my hand and works flawalessly.

  9. Every marketing decision Apple makes is prioritized with the desire to sell hardware. Move the iron. Impress people with thinness, weight, brightness, speed. Software comes a distant second. And Apple isn’t great at software. OS layer is ok. But apps, usability, workflows, User Experience are not Apple’s strength. Perhaps someday they will figure out a MacOS version running on iPad will generate more sales and market share. But I doubt they will be that bold. I wouldn’t call Tim Cook a visionary. And he sets that tone for the entire company. He’s also not a risk taker. He’s a slave to the Wall Street quarterly numbers problem all big US companies face. He doesn’t have the charisma of Steve Jobs who could sell Wall Street on almost anything he wanted to do.

  10. I still don't understand why YouTubers have issues with the iPadOS. Its a touch screen UI interface. If they put mac OS on it. It wouldn't be a good touch screen interface.
If you want "more", get a macbook.

  11. My problem with the M4 iPad Pros boils down to ultimately it’s a cash grab from Apple. That’s it. That’s all it is. You spend that much money on something that an iPad Pro from 3 years ago can do. The new ones just look prettier. It’s bs. Do not buy the iPad Pro M4. Influencers who are upset need to push for a boycott of the device. Apple needs to understand that they need to quit dragging us along give us something worth spending that much money on. It literally could have had extra ports and longer battery and that alone would have been justifiable. But no, they pared it down. Shame on them.

  12. I don’t think they ruined the iPad Pro M4. The iPad Pro M4 is still as good as it is a week ago. It’s just that the iPadOS 18 is not going to utilize that power. So while there are a few new stuff only available on this iPad (which is already here), the majority of the iPad’s power is about being future proof. In other words, that amazing power is being underutilized.

  13. It's a Tablet. If you want more go for a Mac. Let people enjoy the iPad for what it is.
If want all the features that you want from Mac or Android go for it.

Don't get me wrong. I have no idea to upgrade my M1 iPad because i don't want the features or the power that M4 provides. And i am not complaining.

  14. I recently gave my iPad Pro 3rd gen to my son. It’s a great piece of hardware but suggests capabilities that aren’t there. I don’t expect to return to iPadOS ever again.

  15. Thumbs down it’s a well known fact they are but milking of for as long as they can. Same way they don’t make a bigger thicker phone for battery even though people want all day battery life that stays at like 85% with heavy use

  16. The way of projecting your voice is killing me the stupid pauses unnecessary, and in regards to them keeping iPadOS instead of macOS they absolutely are doing a purposely come on from a business standpoint if iPadOS was able to run the best professional grade desktop programs that are Mac runs because it has macOS. It will cannibalize the sales of 90% of the computer line which whole bunch of their sales are MacBook Pro‘s MacBook Air student style computers, a.k.a. business as well. Your videos is almost pointless. For this fact, it’s well known in the end of the day it’s business

  17. I know an IPad Pro isn’t a laptop, but as expensive as it is, why should Apple care if people will buy IPads instead of a MacBook? 1tb 12.9 IPad Pro wifi/ cellular, IPad pencil pro, a Magic Keyboard, Apple care, and tax is $2,962.93. So, why not just use one operating system for both Mac and the IPad pros? Chromebooks and the Surface Pro has cellular capabilities, but the MacBook doesn’t. I have a 16in MacBook Pro that I don’t want to carry to class, and the IPad should be able to get me through simple tasks in class, but it doesn’t. I cracked the MacBook screen and had to pay $855 out of pocket to fix, so I am not carrying that around. The cellular version of the new Surface Pro is coming out in a few months and I may buy that to use in class and leave my IPad and laptop at home. Such a shame that they made a powerful device and can’t come up with matching software.

  18. For those that bought the M4 should’ve waited until WWDC before deciding to buy or not. I know a couple that traded in their previous devices. I have an unlocked IPad Pro M1 and that’s enough for me.

  19. I just want the ability to play WoW classic anywhere without having to use some kind of steam link or remote play service. Mac OS windowed mode or something so you have a linked iPad and MacBook Pro for editing so you can dedicate the iPad to renderering viewport stuff. (Thinking about Maya/Marmoset lighting)
