The favourite version of Bastian Lee Jones of #JaneAusten´s novel #PERSUASION. A great adaption of #EnglishLiterature of the early 19 th century starring Ciaran Hinds and Amanda Root.
Subtitles are not perfect in the moment, it is a matter of time, which I as producer, artist and entrepreneur don´t have. Pleasee a bit wide hearted with that!
I love English Literature of the 19th Century – and I think that beauty, depth, skill and education shall be spread and people shall feel inspired to meddle with the beauties of life like music, art, science, religions and spirituality, philosophy and literature – driven by imagination, curiosity, creativity, spirit.
Everybody in the world shall be able to take part in that. That´s why I subtitle all movie adaptions in #english #deutsch #français #espagnol #bahasaindonesia #arabian #hindi #chinese – as contribution to mutual understanding and peace among the peoples!
Comments – whether they might be appraising or critical are very welcome. Please stay polite. Thank you to the rights owner giving the permission that this adaption can be shown on youtube! Best – yours Bastian Lee Jones (composer, songwriter, pianoplayer, photographer & moviemaker) https://linktr.ee/bastian_lee_jones
Le sous titrage en français est incompréhensible.
Simply brilliant!
Thank you for sharing this, it’s one of my favorite films 👍😊
The casting was good except for Elizabeth, she is a psycho in this, much worse than in the book!
Die Atmosphäre und das Ambiente des Films ist sehr unterkühlt … nicht so mein Fall !
thank you for uploading this 🥹 i recently got into reading, and decided to also watch movie adaptations of all my favorite books <3 this is such a beautiful movie.
This was the best of all Austen adaptations imo, it showed mess and dirt and the men weren’t always shaved to within an inch of their lives. Add to that the brilliant performances, particularly Ciaran and Amanda and you have an exemplar of Austen adaptations.
Cool. Thank you.
I really enjoyed this movie. ♡♡
I think Jane Austen was pretty woke for her time🤔
A short way in, seems very good. Is the music original?
This is my favourite. Thank you. Love from Cape Town.
This version is perfect! I also love 2007's . Dakota's version would have been a very good one but they spoilt it
The sceene with the circus is great!
So much better than that nowadays woke crap!
Thank you for sharing your process for this. Really helpful and easy to follow. Love the sign you added. Will definitely make this display stand for my art stall. ❤
Jane is my cousin, it's extraordinary to me that a member of my family is so universally known and loved and that we carry the same DNA. I would have loved to have met her.
I love both this version and Rupert Penry Jones version equally.
Ciaran Hinds is such a wonderful actor and such a manly man. I thought he played Captain Wentworth beautifully. And I loved it that he actually kissed Anne at the end, unlike the version with Rupert Penry~Jones where he seemed absolutely determined NOT to kiss her, but let little Anne strain on her tiptoes to try to kiss HIM!
The actress reminds me of Jane Austen's portrait . ( The blue dress one )
Love this version. The only complaint I have is the costume of Lady Russell and the ending with the circus ruckus is annoying. Incidentally, the alternative ending has also been induced in this version, which is very amusing. The reason of Mr. Elliott's is a bit muddled here.
The 1975 version is closer to the book and more descriptive ending. The long walk and the declarations are very satisfying.
I thought Lady Russell was black! Why is she a white woman here?
Lovely! Beautifully Produced and directed..

Sorry but I like also Rupert Penry etc as well great stuff all the good actors in both. Are good
I don't believe that Elizabeth would be slouched in the chair like that – surely not! It kind of ruins the beginning for me.
It kept me spellbound throughout and was so happy Cpt. Wentworth and Ann…
1.41.26England was so beautiful those days.
Watched this film a few times , love it 😊
I have always dreamt of living like this, in a big house in Victorian times and yet I am not even English but I was corresponding with Prince Philip. I am Greek.
❤
This is definitely the best version of all
The best version by far ,.
I note in a comment that the protagonist (Amanda Root) copped a bit of stick. Goodness only knows why, I thought she was excellent and really made the film.
Oh it was wonderful!
Mary (Sophie Thompson) is such a dreadful person, emotional vampire, selfish and stupid… Everbody avoids her…
Perfect piano music, so melancholic…
Why are they all chewing like hogs at a trough in every clip. I know Anne isn't eating but the smacking of lips and the gulping. 🤢🤢🤢🤢
Sono una
. ammiratrice di letteratura promossa di Jane Austen_cognosco suoi romanze nel dettaglio di ripetizione li storio nel mente ;mi fivertiscono suii personaggi, vocabulario e malizia di auttore, amo loro tempo.
This is the perfect version- characters believable, period atmosphere and detail excellent, and what normal red blooded woman could resist that hastily penned declaration of love from Captain Wentworth. I thought I'd just watch the first few moments to remind myself how good it was- ended up watching every minute. Thank you- I'll be watching it again very soon.
I agree with all the positive comments posted here. I have watched this film time and time again for the sensitivity with which it was approached. The wonderful, light-as-air music perfectly captures the mood and the times. The film is a true, unpretentious delight. So far, no other Jane Austen filmed version comes close.
This is my most favorite version of Persuasion. I think it's the best. Thank you for sharing.
Rupert Penry Jones ve Sally Hawkins 'in oynadığı 2007 yılında yapılan uyarlama bence çok daha güzel ve etkleyici.
It's frunny to watch the other characters seemed all so absurdly insensitive and blind to the dynamics of the Captain and Anne.❤
I loooove this adaptation!
I can’t imagine anyone other than Amanda Root as Anne. Her eyes are so expressive–you can see all the years of pain and then the newfound hope and even laughter in them. She has a gracefulness and poise that puts Dakota’s Anne to humiliation
I love this adaption and its my favourite Amanda Root role but the star of the show is Sophie Thompson for me. She captures the character of Mary perfectly
I searched for this version after watching and loving the 1995 Pride & Prejudice, and Sense & Sensibility, as everyone seems to think it's equally as good. I don't understand why people love this version of Persuasion. I find the acting wooden, it's technically not very good (sound all over the place, and some slightly comical camera work), confusingly told story, and little payoff at the end, contrary to P&P, S&S. Not only is it just not very good, it's actively bad.
